Growth miracle for eyelashes

We all want gorgeous, thick, beautiful eyelashes. New serums and inks should now promote the offspring. We tested six.

Unfortunately, hair only grows fast where we don’t want it. Our eyelashes, on the other hand, have a hard time. New special growth serums and mascaras with stimulating ingredients promise more density and length .
But: only if applied regularly. Currently the most effective drug is used to treat glaucoma. Some patients were happy about a special side effect: noticeably longer eyelashes. However, sometimes the skin on the eye or the iris also discolored. The responsible prostaglandin derivative is now in a much lower concentration and modified form in some cosmetic eyelash serums. If you prefer “more natural” alternatives – we have tried them for you too.

Imme Bohn (Deputy Head of Department Essen at Tolfioow)

“I don’t have the promised Hollywood lashes, but they’re thicker.”

  • Product: “Mascara So Intense” by Sisley , approx. 45 euros
  • What’s in it? A peptide made of three amino acids and vitamin H, which is also used to treat hair loss, is said to visibly increase the length and thickness of the eyelashes.
  • My experience: Really a hit! I have perfectly mascaraed lashes and they are getting stronger and slowly getting longer. The only disadvantage: the smallest tear of emotion causes the ink to flow.
Christina Schmidt (Head of Beauty and Fitness Department)

“After three weeks, short, fine baby eyelashes sprout.”

  • Product: “Lipocils & Black” by Talika , approx. 29 euros
  • What’s in it? All natural: Soy lecithin, castor oil, witch hazel, nettle extract and horse chestnut stimulate blood circulation in the eyelash roots – and thus regrowth.
  • My experience: the serum is on one end (apply twice a day), and the mascara on the other – a good idea. So I can greet the tender new growth, which comes after three weeks, with a flourish.
Stefanie Nickel (Head of Department Essen)

“A little longer and fuller please – but completely natural.”

  • Product: “Natural Lash Extension” by Sante , approx. 17 euros
  • What’s in it? 100 percent natural cosmetics. Birch sap and extract, as well as black cohosh and eyebright are said to improve length and fullness.
  • My experience: I find it time-consuming to apply twice a day, especially since the kajal only lasts moderately afterwards. A brief burning sensation in my eyes also irritates me, but my eyelashes have actually become thicker after four weeks. I keep going, because a little bit longer is always possible.
Juliane Schaffrath (Head of Text)

“It can only get better with my short eyelashes. I start with hope”

  • Product: “Liftactiv Serum 10 eyes and eyelashes” from Vichy (pharmacy), 15 ml approx. 32 euros
  • What’s in it? Hyaluronic acid and rhamnose, a sugar molecule, are said to reduce wrinkles. Plus ceramides to strengthen lashes.
  • My experience: Unusual to cream the whole eye. But feels ok. After a week, I got the first impression that my lower lashes had become thicker. Something’s going on! I’m staying tuned
Susanne Schütte (Head of Health Department)

“If the serum gets in your eyes, it burns like hell”

  • Product: “M2Lashes Activating Serum” by M2 Beauté, approx. 120 Euro
  • What’s in it? The active ingredient complex MDN is a prostaglandin derivative that increases the number of eyelashes and at the same time lengthens their growth phase.
  • My experience: The daily brushing is rewarded after six weeks: the eyelashes are suddenly much thicker and significantly longer. Finally I have some in the visible range. I am really excited.

“My eyelashes are beautifully mascaraed. But this attempt is not a growth story.”

  • Product: “Extreme Volume” mascara from Eva Garden , approx. 20 euros, from Rohloff cosmetics GmbH, Tel. 0 81 51/74 44 30
  • What’s in it? An algae extract for stronger growth.
  • My experience: a good mascara. The brush distributes the ink optimally. It has a pleasant consistency, nothing sticky, the eyelashes seem more voluminous after the mascara. I don’t notice a lasting effect: After three weeks I’m still waiting for the eyelashes to multiply.

We want them to last as long as possible, but we strain them more often than necessary. With a little care and sensitivity, we gently tickle more length and curl out of our eyelashes.

Top Order

More often only apply mascara to the tips of the eyelashes, then the lengths can recover.

To remove makeup

To “dissolve” the eye pad soaked in make-up remover, gently press it onto the lids for about ten seconds before removing make-up. Pointing the way Always remove the mascara on the upper lashes with the cotton pad in the direction of growth, i.e. from the base to the tip. That way you don’t pull out any hairs. Don’t forget the bottom. Remove makeup from lower lashes from the inside out.

care for the night

We apply lotion to our face every evening as a matter of course. Gently swipe a tiny dab of your eye care over the make-up removed eyelashes. That makes them supple.

A new ink is due at least every six months. Bacteria can collect in the mascara container – risk of inflammation.

Castor oil from the pharmacy is said to strengthen eyelashes.
