Especially in winter our feet are exposed to cold and dry air . The feet are strained and dry. A foot care in winter is quickly and easily integrated into the daily care routine – because right now our feet need sufficient moisture and care. They often have to stay in the lined shoe for hours without any air circulation or temperature equalization.
What happens to our feet in winter?
In the cold winter time, external blood vessels constrict, the feet and hands no longer have the right blood supply and become cold and start to freeze. The result: We have dry, cracked feet or pressure points and more calluses than usual. We can then hide them well in winter boots and thick socks. Unfortunately, these are often too tight and not breathable. On the following pages or from our colleagues at Feetastic .de you can find out what you can do to ensure that your feet are not only beautiful and well-groomed in summer but also in winter .
Ideally, you should massage your feet in the morning and evening with fatty creams, lotions or special oils. Apply cream to your feet before breakfast in the morning so that the care can be absorbed well during the meal. In the evening, applying cream is best in front of the television when you are lying on the couch – the cream can be absorbed well and have a correspondingly good effect. The moisture in the creams supports the skin’s natural sebum production and thus ensures adequate protection and care for your feet in winter.
Everyone has their own issues with certain body parts – feet are high on the list. What can you do about your problem areas? We’ll tell you.
Do you suffer from cracked and dry feet? Choose a foot cream with urea, aloe vera, urea, ammonium lactate or glycerin. With regular use, the skin on your feet will improve. Creams and lotions with lavender, eucalyptus or rosemary have a warming effect and are also good for the blood circulation in your feet.
If you suffer from sweaty feet from a lot of running, warm socks and winter boots, use shoe deodorant or a special powder that absorbs the sweat. The smell in your shoes will quickly improve and the sweating of your feet will decrease. Try it!
In addition to applying lotion to your feet every day , a foot bath with essential oils is recommended. Of course, you will achieve the best effect the more often you treat your feet to a footbath. Just make sure to massage your feet while you do this to stimulate blood flow. A great side effect of the foot bath is that your skin on your feet is now nice and soft – the perfect moment to remove excess calluses. Then massage your feet with a nourishing cream, socks – done!
Caution : Do not rasp off too much callus! If you are unsure, we recommend going to a medical pedicurist.

In addition to various care routines and products, the right footwear is the most important thing for the health of our feet. Many are not even aware that they are wearing the wrong shoes. There is pressure in the front, on the side or on the heel and the shoe is still bought – because it is only available in this size or because it looks so nice. If unlined shoes are also worn in winter because they seem indispensable even in the coldest season, thick and cozy socks should usually be used to warm the feet sufficiently. The main question is: do I really fit in the shoe with thick socks? Because as soon as the shoe with the extra thick socks is too tight, it pinches and the foot freezes even more – because it is the air between the shoe and the foot that keeps your feet warm in winter.
The following applies to home sweet home: either walk barefoot in the apartment or put on socks. Your feet need rest from all that “wearing shoes” and air to avoid sweaty feet. Your feet will thank you for life!
