1. Always a good gut feeling
If you know your stomach and know that it is very sensitive to many things, you can use the active ingredient dimenhydrinate to prevent nausea. The drug (e.g. “Vomex A®”, in pharmacies) blocks the histamine effect in the brain and prevents nausea – at home and on the go, even as a preventive measure.
2. Diversionary tactics
The more we focus on the nausea, the more we perceive it. If we think of something else, e.g. B. Listening to an audio book, counting red cars, it distracts from the complaints.
3. The small climatic resort
If you can, take a little walk or at least air out regularly. Breathe in the fresh air deeply and calmly, which usually brings a little relief immediately.
4. Time for porridge
The first bite should be as easy to digest as possible. Carrots, bananas or potatoes are particularly suitable for pureeing. The porridge provides vitamins and minerals, the fiber in it can bind toxins. Oatmeal with cinnamon and a pinch of turmeric works against toxins and is great against putrefactive bacteria (bloating) and fungi.
5. Undisturbed and aware
Take your time to eat, to enjoy. Try to listen carefully to your body’s signals and stop when you’re full, not when the plate is empty. Important: Never eat with reluctance.
6. Learn to relax
We know that love goes through the stomach, but so does anger – just not as nicely. Anyone who reacts to stress and worries with a stomach ache can do a lot for their own well-being with deep abdominal breathing and conscious relaxation (yoga, meditation).
7. Sip by sip
Vomiting and diarrhea flush harmful pathogens out of the body, but we also lose a lot of fluids. Therefore, drink herbal teas with fennel, caraway, sage or salty broth. SOS tip: Chew on slices of ginger – that often helps a lot.
8. Love and warmth
It takes a while for the turmoil in your stomach to subside. Be good to yourself now. If the hot water bottle puts too much pressure on your stomach, place it under your lumbar spine. This relaxes the muscles and fascia that surround the intestines.
9. Recognize patterns
Every stomach is different, not everyone reacts the same to certain substances. To find out what always makes you feel nauseous, keep a food diary for several weeks and write down your gut feeling. Maybe it’s the baby spinach leaves in the salad, maybe it’s the milk in the coffee. Find out about intolerance.
