If your hair is feeling dry, brittle and brittle this time of year, then we have these six tips for you.
Winter in particular can be very tiring for the hair. Cold, wet, harsh weather, hats and heated air can dry out your hair and make it more prone to breakage. In addition to environmental influences, stress such as dyeing, hot blow-drying, straightening and washing too often lead to dull hair. The good news, though, is that while dry hair is a common problem, it can be easily treated and prevented. We have put together 5 tips for you to make your hair look beautiful and healthy again from root to tip.

1. Avoid washing your hair every day
If you tend to wash your hair every day, maybe it’s time to reconsider. Shampoos remove dirt and sweat from your hair that has built up throughout the day. Every hair wash removes sebum from the hair and scalp and dries it out. Sebum is the natural oil that makes your hair more manageable and shiny. Too much sebum, on the other hand, makes the hair look greasy. Depending on the hair type, season and physical activity, washing your hair two to three times a week is sufficient. This not only makes your hair look healthier, it also saves you a lot of water.
2. Rinse hair with cold water
A hot shower on cold days can certainly be beneficial, but too much hot water robs hair (and skin) of its natural moisture. Take a warm to lukewarm shower and try to keep it short. If you can take it, rinse your hair with cold water afterwards. Cold water closes the cuticle layer of the hair fiber, smoothes the hair surface and makes your hair look shinier.
3. Take care of your hair
Hair conditioners are an equally important part of any hair care routine. At least once a week you should use a conditioner in the shower to restore moisture to dry hair. Dry hair is the main cause of hair breakage and split ends. Hair masks are particularly suitable for more intensive care. Hair masks contain a high concentration of moisturizing ingredients, vitamins and oils. However, make sure to only apply the conditioners and masks to the lengths of the hair, otherwise they can strain the scalp.

4. Use the right hairbrush
When wet, hair is more prone to breakage and tangles. Therefore, treat it with care after showering. If the hair is also fine and curly, the risk of damaged hair increases. Therefore, use a wide-toothed comb to detangle and do not pull a brush through wet hair. Then comb the ends of your hair first before working your way up. Once the hair is dry, use a boar bristle brush. Boar bristles distribute the natural oils in your hair and in this way improve the hair structure. In addition, they stimulate blood circulation in the scalp and do not tear the hair as much as plastic or metal bristles.

5. Watch your diet
Our hair can often provide information about how healthy we eat. Because while healthy and strong hair is essential to our well-being and confidence, it is not essential to survival. When our body is confronted with limited resources due to stress, illness or an unbalanced diet, it directs the nutrients to theTolfioow organs first. The result: general hair loss, dry or brittle hair. To counteract this nutrient deficiency, you should make sure you have an adequate supply of the following vitamins:
- Zink
- Vitamin E
- Vitamin A
- Vitamin B
- Vitamin D
- Biotin
- folic acid
6. Go to the hairdresser regularly
Split ends are when the hair splits from the tips. This is often the case with long hair, as it is exposed to more friction here (e.g. from coarse scarves or lying on the shoulders). Once the split ends are there, the broken ends of the hair can no longer be repaired. Unfortunately, the only thing that helps is going to the hairdresser. But it’s worth it: not only does the hair immediately look healthier and more cared for, it is also strengthened by regular cutting and new split ends are prevented. Every three months, the tips should therefore be trimmed half to one centimeter to keep the ends of the hair healthy.
