What is hyperacidity?

In the case of acidosis , the blood is too acidic because the acid-base balance is out of balance. Blood pH becomes acidic when it is below 7.36. Normally, this is 7.4. A permanent acid load means a health burden for our organism, so that numerous functions in the body no longer function fully. Cardiac arrhythmias , kidney stones or acne are just a few diseases that can occur. Hyperacidity manifests itself through numerous symptoms. Tiredness and exhaustion, difficulty concentrating, muscle and joint pain or an increased susceptibility to infectionscan indicate such an imbalance. Dietary supplements that provide you with valuable nutrients and contribute to a normal acid-base metabolism restore the natural balance. We recommend, for example, Bastentabs from Pascoe  or  Acetolyt® from Protina .

As a rule, the body is able to regulate its acid-base balance itself. This occurs through the respiratory and metabolic systems . The former is controlled via the lungs and accordingly via our breathing. The kidneys are involved in the metabolic system. It controls excretion through the urine. If one of these two systems is disturbed – for example due to diseases such as asthma or kidney failure – acidification can occur accordingly. However, the main reason for acidosis is poor nutrition .

Acid-forming foods are mostly of animal origin. You should definitely avoid the following foods when you have been diagnosed with acidosis and only eat them in moderation so that hyperacidity can be prevented as best as possible:
