However, the dishes from the Christmas market are often anything but figure-friendly. Anyone who is losing weight, counting calories or generally does not have a high calorie consumption often worries about the number of calories in gingerbread, mulled wine and the like. But that doesn’t have to be the case! We have selected the most common treats and their calories for you!

Lumumba
The hot chocolate with a shot is available at every drinks stand. Lumumba consists of chocolate, sugar and whole milk. The drink is often served with cream and a shot of schnapps. A cup of Lumumba comes to about 400 kilocalories.
Eggnog
Eggnog, wine, brandy, orange juice, egg yolk and sugar are the basic ingredients of eggnog. This also brings 367 kcal per approx. 200 ml.
Feuerzangenbowle
In addition to the wine and spices, the sugar loaf soaked in rum is added, which is lit and then drips into the wine. Feuerzangenbowle comes to about 256 kcal per cup. Tip: The longer the punch is flambéed, the less alcohol and calories are left over.
Mulled wine
The all-time favorite drink is made from red or white wine with spices like cinnamon and cloves. A cup of mulled wine therefore has about 210 kcal. A little more with an extra shot. Children’s punch, on the other hand, only has 130 kcal per cup. Perfect for anyone looking to save a few calories.

Almonds Almonds roasted in sugar are often available in different pack sizes at the Christmas market. 100 grams already have 537 kcal. Roasted almonds are often also available in 200 gram and 300 gram bags.
Roasted chestnuts Roasted chestnuts
are an alternative to roasted almonds. 100 grams come to only 192 kcal with little fat, but plenty of fiber, so that they even fill you up.
Schmalzkuchen Traditionally, lard cake is baked in fat and then dusted with powdered sugar . For 100 grams, usually a small bag, there are already 430 kcal.
Love apple
The apples are coated with a red colored layer of sugar. They bring it to about 190 kcal per piece. A small apple with a chocolate coating, on the other hand, has around 230 kcal.
Baked
Apple The classic baked apple with flaked almonds, some marzipan, cinnamon, sugar and butter only has about 204 kcal per portion.
Gingerbread (hearts)
In the pre-Christmas period, gingerbread is a must. A small gingerbread heart (approx. 60 g) contains 235 kcal, a medium-sized heart (approx. 120 g) 470 kcal and a large heart (approx. 190 g) 744 kcal.
Christstollen
The delicious yeast pastry with raisins, almonds and many other Christmas flavors has around 384 kcal per 100 grams. This makes the stollen a lightweight among Christmas treats.
Crêpes and waffles
A low-fat alternative to e.g. B. Pastries are waffles with powdered sugar or crêpes with cinnamon and sugar or applesauce. Depending on the topping, these pastries have 200 to 300 kcal per portion. A crepe with chocolate spread, on the other hand, has around 350 kcal.
Hearty dishes
Bratwurst
At cold temperatures, a freshly grilled hot bratwurst in a bun tastes particularly good. With mustard and ketchup, however, you quickly reach 500 kcal per serving. Burgundy ham is an alternative. It has just 280 kcal per 100 grams.
Potato cakes
The small potato pieces have approx. 300 kcal per portion. With some applesauce (approx. 50 g) it is only 340 kcal.
Fried mushrooms
Although mushrooms are actually very low in calories, the garlic sauce in which they are fried is very high in fat and therefore high in calories. For example, 200 g of fried mushrooms quickly have 240 kcal. Nevertheless, a fairly light meal and even suitable for low-carb fans.
French fries
A portion of French fries (approx. 150 g) contains 435 kcal. With ketchup it becomes 457 kcal, with mayonnaise it is 546 kcal.
Corn on the cob with and without butter
Whether with or without butter makes a big difference with corn on the cob. With 20 g of butter, a corncob comes to about 330 kcal, while without only 180 kcal.
