This tattoo can save lives!

Tattoos are an integral part of today’s society. While it’s often used as body jewelry, a small tattoo on the forearm can save the life of a diabetic in an emergency.

The tattoo studio “Tattoo Rock” from Landshut, together with Hungarian doctors, has developed a tattoo that can save the life of a diabetic patient in an emergency. For this purpose, a small blue circle with the inscription “Type I”, “Type II” or “IR” is tattooed on the forearm. If a diabetic’s blood sugar level gets out of control and an attack occurs, the emergency services immediately see that when they measure their pulse the patient is diabetic and can act accordingly.

It is also important that everyone knows the now internationally recognized symbol so that they can get help quickly. If a diabetic has blood sugar that is too low or too high, in the worst case and if there is not enough help, he can fall into a coma. The tattoo studio “Tattoo Rock” will even do the tattoo for free. A total of 27 tattoo studios across Germany are taking part in the initiative. The aim is to make the symbol even better known and thus save lives.

Criticism of the diabetic tattoo

If rescue workers are called to a diabetic emergency, a diabetes tattoo is actually necessary. Since the blood sugar value, like the pulse and blood pressure, is one of theTolfioow parameters, it would first be checked before further measures are initiated. Only a drop of blood and a few seconds are required for the blood sugar test.

Nevertheless, a good thing
In order to be able to get help quickly in an emergency, the tattoo is still suitable. Passers-by, strangers or rescue workers see immediately that it is a diabetic and can react accordingly.
