Recipes for healthy baby food

Make healthy vegetable puree yourself

This vegetable puree is ideal for your baby to get used to complementary food from the 5th month .

Ingredients:

  • 300 g mixed organic vegetables, such as potatoes, carrots, pumpkin
  • water

Preparation:

  1. Wash, peel, clean and cut the vegetables into small pieces. The smaller the pieces, the shorter the cooking time and the more vitamins are retained in the vegetables.
  2. Put the vegetables in a saucepan, cover 3/4 of them with cold water and then let them simmer with the lid on for about 15 minutes until the vegetables are soft.
  3. Then let the vegetables cool down and puree them finely together with the water. If the porridge is too thick, add a little more water.

Baby porridge with parsnips and veal

Parsnips are particularly popular with babies because of their sweet taste. From the 5th month , the vegetables can be processed into baby food.

Ingredients:

  • 100 g Pastinaken
  • 30 g veal fillet
  • 50 g mealy potatoes
  • 60ml of water
  • 3 tbsp apple juice
  • 1 tbsp canola oil

Preparation:

  1. Wash, peel and cut the vegetables into small pieces.
  2. Wash the veal fillet briefly and dice it into small cubes.
  3. Put everything in a saucepan with the water and let it boil gently for 10 minutes.
  4. Then you add the apple juice and rapeseed oil and puree everything to a pulpy mass. If the porridge is too thick, add a little more water.

Baby porridge with pears, rice flakes and milk

The fruity porridge with raw fruit is suitable for babies from the 6th month . When getting used to the fruit, it is best to start by steaming the fruit before adding the porridge or using puree without added sugar. After a while you can puree the fruit yourself and add it to the porridge.

Ingredients:

  • 20 g rice flakes
  • 200 ml whole milk (3.5% fat)
  • 1/4 ripe organic pear

Preparation:

  1. Boil the whole milk together with the rice flakes in a small saucepan and then let the porridge simmer gently for another three minutes.
  2. Clean the pear, grate it finely, add it to the rice porridge and puree everything.

Vegetarian baby porridge with soup vegetables

A delicious, vegetarian baby porridge with soup vegetables and potatoes is suitable for babies from the 7th month .

Ingredients:

  • 50 g mealy potatoes
  • 100 g mixed soup vegetables
  • 3 tbsp apple juice
  • 60ml of water
  • 1 tbsp oatmeal
  • 1 tbsp canola oil
  • Preparation:
  1. Wash, peel and cut the vegetables into small pieces.
  2. Put it in a saucepan with 60 ml water, bring it to the boil briefly and continue to simmer on a low heat for about ten minutes until the vegetables are soft.
  3. Then you add oatmeal and let the mixture swell for two minutes.
  4. Finely puree the mass together with the rapeseed oil and apple juice. If the porridge is too thick, feel free to add some water.

Vegetarian sweet potato and cauliflower mash with spelt

From the 7th month , adding cabbage to baby food is also suitable. Cauliflower contains a lot of vitamin C and is very digestible.

Ingredients:

  • 50 g mealy potatoes
  • 50 grams of cauliflower
  • 50g sweet potato
  • 70ml of water
  • 10 g Dinkelflakes
  • 1 tbsp rapeseed oil​

Preparation:

  1. Wash the vegetables, peel the potatoes and cut them into small pieces.
  2. Clean the cauliflower and cut it into small pieces.
  3. Put the vegetables in a small saucepan with 70 ml of water and let them cook for ten minutes with the lid on.
  4. Then you add the spelled flakes and let everything simmer for about three minutes.
  5. Puree the mass together with the rapeseed oil. You can always add some water for a mushy consistency.

Vegetarian baby porridge with millet, carrot and fennel

Babies can enjoy fennel from the 7th month . Fennel has a high nitrate content, which can convert to nitrite in the body when the complementary food is reheated. Nitrite is not only carcinogenic, but also inhibits oxygen transport.

Ingredients:

  • 50 grams of carrots
  • 50 g mealy potatoes
  • 50 g Bio-Fenchel
  • 60ml of water
  • 10 g Hirseflocken
  • 1 tbsp canola oil
  • 3 tbsp orange juice

Preparation:

  1. Wash, peel and cut the carrots and potatoes into small pieces.
  2. Wash, clean and also cut the fennel into small pieces. To do this, remove the upper roots with the fennel greens. Halve the tubers and cut out the stalk in the middle in a wedge shape.
  3. Put the vegetables with the water in a small saucepan and let them simmer gently for about 10 minutes with the lid on.
  4. Now add the millet flakes, let the whole thing cook for another 2 minutes and finally add the orange juice and rapeseed oil.
  5. Puree everything and the baby porridge is ready.

Vegetarian porridge with broccoli and egg

Babies are allowed to eat hard-boiled eggs from the 9th month . Babies are only allowed to eat hard-boiled eggs, otherwise there is a risk of salmonella poisoning. Babies are generally allowed to eat eggs once or twice a week because they contain a lot of protein.

Ingredients:

  • 100 grams of broccoli
  • 50 g mealy potatoes
  • 1/2 hard boiled egg
  • 60ml of water
  • 3 tbsp apple juice
  • 1 tbsp canola oil

Preparation:

  1. Wash, peel and cut the potatoes into small pieces.
  2. Clean, wash and cut the broccoli into small pieces as well.
  3. Put the vegetables in a small saucepan with 60 ml of water and let them simmer on a low heat for about 12 minutes.
  4. Cut the egg into small pieces and stir it into the vegetables.
  5. Then finely puree the porridge with the apple juice and rapeseed oil. If the consistency of the porridge is too thick, add a little more water.

Baby food made from salmon and spinach

Spinach is a vegetable that is very rich in nitrates, so it should not be eaten every day and should only be eaten in babies from the 9th month . Fresh in the porridge, it can be on the menu for the little ones once or twice a week.

Ingredients:

  • 50 g Zucchini
  • 50 grams of potatoes
  • 30 g frozen organic salmon
  • 50 g TK-Bio-Spinach
  • 60ml of water
  • 1 tbsp canola oil
  • 3 tbsp fruit juice

Preparation:

  1. Put the frozen spinach in a small saucepan with 60 ml water and let it thaw covered over a low heat.
  2. Wash the vegetables, peel the potatoes and cut both into small pieces.
  3. Add the vegetables to the spinach and let it simmer for five minutes over low heat.
  4. Defrost the salmon a little, cut it into small pieces and add it to the vegetables. Let everything simmer gently for another ten minutes with the lid closed until the vegetables are soft.
  5. Add the oil and fruit juice and puree everything.

Fruity baby porridge with melted flakes and strawberries

The right recipe for a fruity-fresh porridge with healthy strawberries and easily digestible melted flakes, which you can give to your baby from the 9th month . The porridge contains a lot of protein and iron.

Ingredients:

  • 200 ml whole milk (3.5% fat)
  • 20 g melted flakes
  • 4 strawberries

Preparation:

  1. Put the melted flakes and milk in a small saucepan and bring to the boil.
  2. Take the pot off the stovetop, let the mixture cool in it and meanwhile puree or mash the strawberries.
  3. Add the strawberries to the porridge and mix everything together.

Baby porridge with minced meat, rice, tomato and zucchini

From the 10th month there is baby porridge with tomatoes. You should not start earlier with the acidic and difficult-to-digest vegetables.

Ingredients:

  • 70 g Zucchini
  • 50 g cooked whole grain rice
  • 30 grams of ground beef
  • 50 g tomato passata
  • 40ml of water
  • 1 tbsp canola oil

Preparation:

  1. Put the tomatoes, the minced meat and the water in a small saucepan, bring the ingredients to the boil and continue to simmer for another five minutes.
  2. Wash the zucchini, dice them and add them to the bowl. Let the batch continue to simmer gently for another eight minutes.
  3. Cook the whole grain rice according to the instructions on the packet, add it and let it simmer for about two more minutes.
  4. Stir in the rapeseed oil and finely puree the ingredients in the saucepan. If the porridge is too firm, add a little more water and then wait until the entire mass has turned into a porridge.

Baby food made from beef and asparagus

From the 10th month , asparagus can be added to the baby food. Asparagus is not recommended at the beginning of the complementary food introduction because it is difficult to digest.

Ingredients:

  • 50 g Zucchini
  • 50 g white asparagus
  • 30g lean ground beef
  • 50 grams of potatoes
  • 60ml of water
  • 1 tbsp canola oil
  • 2 tablespoons fruit juice or fruit puree

Preparation:

  1. Wash, peel and cut the potatoes and asparagus into small pieces. Wash and chop the courgettes too. Put the vegetables together with the meat and about 60 ml water in a small saucepan and let it cook gently for about 12 minutes with the lid closed.
  2. Then let it cool down a bit and finely puree the amount together with the juice and rapeseed oil. If the mass is still too firm, feel free to add a little more water.

Sweet couscous baby porridge with banana and milk

This fruity baby porridge can be enjoyed from the 11th month . The slightly chunky couscous can also be eaten earlier if it is finely pureed beforehand.

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 ripe banana
  • 100 ml whole milk (3.5% fat)
  • 40 g Instant-Couscous

Preparation:

  1. Boil the whole milk in a small saucepan.
  2. Put the couscous in a small bowl, pour the boiling milk over it and let the mixture swell for about 5 minutes.
  3. Peel the banana, mash it with a fork or puree it and add the banana puree to the couscous.
