Recipe for lukewarm porridge with cinnamon apples

We are self-confessed fans of oatmeal. We particularly like eating the nutritious and high-fiber grain as a porridge, which we top with delicious, aromatic cinnamon-apples.

Lukewarm porridge with cinnamon apples

Porridge not only gives us a good portion of energy in the morning, but also provides us with plenty of protein, vitamins, fiber and minerals such as calcium and iron. Our cinnamon apple porridge recipe is therefore the perfect sweet breakfast that you can prepare in minutes.

ingredients

for 2 servings
  • 100 g pithy oat flakes
  • 500ml of water
  • 1 EL Chiasamen
  • salt
  • 1 sweet organic apple
  • 1 TL Butter
  • 100 ml milk (1.5% fat)
  • 2 TL Maple Syrup
  • Zimtpulver

preparation

  1. Bring the oat flakes and chia seeds to the boil in a saucepan with 1⁄2 l water and a pinch of salt and simmer for approx. 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  2. Meanwhile, wash the apple, quarter, core and cut into thin wedges. Heat the butter in a small pan and briefly sauté the apple slices in it.
  3. Stir the cold milk into the oatmeal and divide the porridge onto deep plates or bowls. Arrange the apple slices on top, drizzle with maple syrup and sprinkle some cinnamon on top.

Recipe Tips

You can refine your porridge with even more delicious toppings. Healthy walnuts give you, among other things, an extra portion of omega-3 fatty acids. Fresh berries provide you with plenty of vitamins, minerals and phytochemicals that have an antioxidant effect.
