Classic shortbread
These cookies bring back old childhood memories – we’re talking about spritz cookies, which are one of the classic Christmas cookies. With just a few ingredients that are sure to be found in your kitchen cupboard and refrigerator, you can conjure up the delicacies from shortcrust pastry in no time.
ingredients
- 250 g flour
- 125 grams of sugar
- 125 g Butter
- 1 No.
- 1 packet of vanilla sugar
- 1/2 pack baking powder
- 125 g ground nuts e.g. B. almonds or hazelnuts
preparation
- Knead the flour with sugar, butter, egg, vanilla sugar, baking powder and nuts into a dough and leave to rest in the fridge for an hour.
- Fill the dough into a piping bag and place donuts, sticks, hearts or flowers on a baking sheet.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C and bake the biscuits for about 10 minutes.
Recipe Tips
If you want, you can refine the finished shortbread with liquid chocolate. Simply melt the bittersweet couverture in a hot water bath, dip the biscuits in from one side and place on baking paper to dry. Alternatively, you can use a spoon to spoon the melted chocolate over the shortbread.
Store shortbread correctly
The delicious Christmas cookies stay fresh for the longest time if they are stored in an airtight metal can or in a storage jar. Do not store the cookies in the fridge, store them at room temperature. A dark pantry is ideal.
