Christmas is just around the corner and you need a large load of cookies quickly? Then this amazingly simple, delicious and at the same time healthy cookie recipe is your rescue. You don’t need any kitchen appliances, nor hundreds of (unhealthy) ingredients like flour, sugar, baking powder or eggs. The only things you need are oatmeal, bananas, a fork, a bowl and parchment paper. Here we go!

Ingredients for Oatmeal Christmas Cookies

for 30 servings
  • 200 g rolled oats (gluten-free if required)
  • 3 medium sized bananas
  • Optional: cinnamon

Preparing the oatmeal Christmas cookies

  1. Preheat your oven to 180 degrees. Peel the ripe bananas and mash them with a fork in a bowl.
  2. Add the oat flakes to the banana puree and mix them into a dough-like mass.
  3. Form balls of dough of the desired size with your hands, place them on the baking tray lined with baking paper and flatten the balls.
  4. Now bake the oatmeal cookies in the oven for 20 minutes at 180°C.

Oatmeal recipe tips

If you have celiac disease or gluten intolerance , use oatmeal that is explicitly labeled as gluten-free .

Feel free to spice up the biscuits with Christmas spices such as cinnamon , vanilla or cardamom.

For an extra portion of crunch, you can add a small handful of flaxseeds or chopped nuts to the batter.
