Drooping eyelids: that opens the eyes
- Do not style eyebrows too straight. Better: The first two thirds of the brow rise, the last third curves slightly downwards.
- Trace the V of the inner corner of the eye with a light grey, silver or champagne eyeliner.
- Apply concealer (product no. 1) not only under the eyes, but also on the right and left of the nose next to the inner corner of the eye. The skin there is usually particularly dark.
- Choose eye shadow (No. 4) in light, slightly shimmering shades if possible. Dark and matt reduces the eyes and emphasizes the wrinkles around them.
- “Only apply mascara to the upper lash line and particularly emphasize the lashes on the outer corner of the eye, this opens up the eyes,” advises Sandra Raab, make-up artist at Estée Lauder.
Proper blush
Many women are afraid of red cheeks and therefore prefer brownish and orange tones in blush. Totally wrong, says makeup expert Bobbi Brown , it looks harsh and unnatural. Better: delicate rosé tones such as rosewood or soft pink.
Perfect foundation
- Shimmering: Matte, powdery make-up makes the complexion look lifeless and accentuates every fine line. Shimmering (not glittering!) make-ups with light-reflecting pigments and silicone elastomers that lie over the skin like a soft focus are ideal (No. 2).
- Light: Make-up should not tan the skin but level it out. Therefore, never use a nuance that is darker than the skin tone, it always makes you look older. Slightly yellowish nuances that look more natural on most women than those with a rosé undertone are ideal.
- Transparent: Heavily pigmented make-up makes the complexion appear sallow, and pigment spots can also appear greyish as a result. Better to use light fluid make-ups. They cover imperfections, but allow the natural skin tone to shine through.
Lip color for white teeth
Yellowish lipstick nuances such as orange or terracotta make the teeth appear yellower. On the other hand, bluish-red nuances such as pink or rich berry tones are perfect optical whiteners for the pearly whites.
Softer Kajal
Avoid hard lines with liquid eyeliner, which emphasizes every little wrinkle. Soft contours look much nicer with kajal or a soft eyeliner pencil. Best in smoky, slightly shimmering plum, gray or mauve tones instead of deep black.
Subtle nail polish
Soft pink-colored nails in a French manicure look are a classic, optically lengthen the hands and distract from creases.
A bright red always looks good, but it should be more red than blue. Bluish red tones unnecessarily emphasized the veins and reddening of the hands.
Nuances in “restrained” pink (No. 3), grey, mauve or taupe tones look surprisingly beautiful. They emphasize the nails subtly, look very elegant and do not visually shorten them as much as nail polish in very dark red or brown tones.
