Kitchen novelties

Whether snacks for in between, beneficial smoothis or colorful knives – we present you with colorful new kitchen products.

Hat help

What do fruity smoothies and woolen hats have in common? Both are the focus of a charity campaign by innocent. It calls on all knitting fans to knit caps for their smoothie bottles by November 1st, 2011. From November 21st, REWE will be bringing these to the refrigerated shelves. For every bottle sold, 30 cents go to the German Red Cross. Information on dasgrossestricken.de.

Organic snack

Guaranteed without sugar , but with lots of fruit and nuts: the Rapunzel fruit bar. E.g. “cranberry cashew”. In organic stores, 40 g bar about 1 euro.

With addiction factor

Blanched, roasted almonds, covered with fruit mixtures in honey and salt – that tastes sweet and salty at the same time. From Seeberger, 80 g bag approx. 1.80 euros.

Good idea

Chic metal cans containing nut and dried fruit mixtures in countless variations: the concept from KERN-energie. 200 g from about 3 euros plus shipping. In delicatessen shops or via kern-energie.com.

More sharpness, more color

The knives from the French manufacturer Opinel have both. Their blades are made of stainless Sandvik steel, the handles are made of naturally renewable beech wood – in natural or cheerful colors – with a waterproof varnish. Now new: the “Opinel Essentials” set with four important helpers for around 32 euros (other sets in specialist shops).
