Melon: how long does it keep?
If the watermelon is unopened, it will keep for about a week or two. If you keep this in the fridge, it can last even longer. Sliced melon chunks should be eaten within a few days – cover with cling film and refrigerate. Once the fruit smells putrid and has white or dark spots on the skin or flesh, it should be discarded.
