Just leave out the household sugar! Don’t you think so? But! Thanks to cocoa, vanilla, dates, prunes or cinnamon, these treats taste (almost) just as delicious!

Orange Energy Balls

Ingredients for 6 pieces:

  • 100 grams of dates
  • 60 g dried apricots
  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
  • 1 pinch ground vanilla
  • 2 tbsp dried orange zest
Preparation:

Roughly dice the dates and apricots, place in a blender with 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder, vanilla and orange zest and puree until smooth.

Form 2 fruit mixture into 6 balls and toss in the remaining cocoa powder. Place in the fridge for about 30 minutes.

Per piece 110 kcal, 3 g protein, 3 g fat, 18 g carbohydrates

Duration : approx. 15 minutes

Vanillemandeln

Recipe for 4 servings:

  • 2 tbsp coconut oil
  • 100 grams of almonds
  • 2 tsp ground vanilla
  • 1⁄4 TL Zimtpulver

Preparation:

1. Heat coconut oil in a pan. Roast the almonds in it over a medium heat for approx. 3 minutes, turning occasionally.

2. Sprinkle the almonds with vanilla and cinnamon, roast briefly. Let the vanilla almonds cool on baking paper and serve.

Per serving 190 kcal, 6 g protein, 18 g fat, 1 g carbohydrate

Duration : about 10 minutes

Sweet Potato Brownies

Ingredients for 15 pieces:

  • 6 pitted dates
  • 300 grams of sweet potatoes
  • 1 pinch ground vanilla
  • 1⁄2 TL Zimtpulver
  • 30 g unsweetened cocoa
  • 30 grams of coconut oil
  • salt
  • 60 g ground almonds
  • 4 eggs (size S)

Preparation:

1. Cover dates in a bowl with water. Leave to soak for 12 hours (e.g. overnight). Pour off and drain.

2. Peel the sweet potatoes, wash and cut into large pieces. Steam in a little water at medium heat for about 10 minutes and drain. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees (155 degrees for a fan oven). Line a flat baking tin (20 x 26 cm) with baking paper.

3. Slightly heat coconut oil in a saucepan. Mash the sweet potatoes and dates. Stir in the vanilla, cinnamon, cocoa and a pinch of salt. Stir in coconut oil, eggs and almonds.

4. Fill the dough into the mold and smooth it out. Bake in the oven (middle) for about 45 minutes. Remove form, let cool. Cut the cake into 15 pieces. Dust with cocoa powder.

Duration : about 1 hour

franzmuffins

Ingredients for 12 pieces:

  • 200 grams of prunes
  • 350 g wholemeal spelled flour
  • 1 packet of dry yeast
  • salt
  • 80ml milk
  • 60ml of water
  • 50 g soft butter
  • 2 eggs (size S)
  • 1 pinch ground vanilla
  • 1 THE Zimtpulver
Preparation:

1. Cover plums in a bowl with water, let soak for 12 hours (e.g. overnight). Drain, drain. Reserve 80 ml of soaking water.

2. Mix flour, yeast and salt in a bowl. Add milk, water, butter, eggs and vanilla and knead with dough hook. Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour.

3. Puree the plums, soaking water and cinnamon. Grease muffin tin. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees (155 degrees for a fan oven).

4. Knead the dough on a floured worktop and roll out into a 1⁄2 centimeter thick rectangle. Cut the dough into strips (3 cm x 10 cm). Spread 1-2 tablespoons of puree on each of two strips of dough, place on top of each other, fold together and cut into 2-3 pieces. Repeat until batter and puree are used up. Divide the pieces of dough into the wells of the muffin tin and press together.

5. Bake the muffins in the oven (middle) for about 25 minutes until golden brown. Take out, let cool and release from the mould.
