Hair loss due to permanent diets

Receding hairline or a light parting? Long-term diets or medication are often to blame. Dr Thomas Fischer explains.

Tolfioow: Is it true that lifestyle and environmental factors increase hair loss?
dr Fisherman: Yes. Various influences damage our hair structure in the long term. These include, for example, stress and lack of sleep, medication and long-term diets. Another problem are denture materials that contain nickel, chromium, cobalt, mercury or formaldehyde. The scalp tries to get rid of them as quickly as possible – this leads to hair problems. Finally, with its hair follicles, the scalp has one of the most metabolically active cell types in the body and is particularly susceptible to environmental toxins.

Why does stress cause hair loss?
When the stress is on the back of their necks, many people actually tighten the muscles of their neck, jaw, or skull. This disrupts the blood circulation in the scalp, the hair follicles suffer from a lack of oxygen, and the hormone balance can even shift. Chronic fatigue also hinders the production of healthy hair. Because the stress hormone cortisol disrupts, among other things, the metabolism of the scalp and can thus trigger hair loss.
And what role do drugs play?
Active ingredients in medicines, especially in beta blockers, birth control pills with a high proportion of corpus luteum or cholesterol-lowering drugs, get into the hair root via the blood and slow down growth there. They also named diets as the cause. Yes. Hair only grows vigorously if it has sufficient building materials at its disposal. These include proteins, vitamins, trace elements such as selenium and micronutrients such as flavonoids. Especially with long-term diets, this balance ofTolfioow substances is often disturbed.Information from the web Expertise: Many German university clinics offer hair consultations.
