I almost missed the entrance to the new La Biosthetique salon on the Große Bleiche in Hamburg. Even when I enter the reception area, it is relatively small and manageable. But then it goes upstairs, to the actual place of action. A completely different picture awaits me there. There is plenty of editing space on the first floor, and there is (of course) a huge mirror in front of each one.
I am accompanied to one of the many places and handed over to my hairdresser. It quickly becomes clear to me: In this salon, a distinction is made between hair and color professionals. First there is a detailed discussion about my ideas regarding the cut. This makes me really brave. Normally, my pain threshold is at chin length. But I allow myself to be persuaded to part with a few millimeters more. Then the consultation continues – albeit with another colleague, the color expert. I’m surprised to find that I feel like I’ve been properly understood. I like my previous color – and everyone involved feels the same way. So “top priority” is: not too dark. I like that! From now on I sit back and relax and leave everything else to the professionals.
While washing my hair, I enjoy the great head massage and look at different natural scenarios (from the kangaroo to the desert landscape) on a huge screen in front of me. Then it’s time for cutting and then for coloring. At some point – I’ve lost my sense of time – I end up back in my seat with a towel on my head. This is the first decisive moment: the sight of my wet hair . If the color looks a bit darker than I had hoped, I like it. Once blow-dried and thus arrived at the second decisive moment, the slightly shorter cut fits perfectly and my hair has a super shine. After almost three hours, I leave the salon quite satisfied and would like to say: I would love to come back.
