There are many trends. But are they any good? We test outsider methods and products for you that promise health and well-being. This time: the Chi Machine
Without will, as if remotely controlled, I have to get on the “Chi machine”. Their bait promises sound too seductive: purify the body, tighten the skin , slim the waist, strengthen the immune system, deeply relax the soul in just four weeks. And beam away cellulite, headaches, neck tension and sleep problems. In addition, train the body and supply as much oxygen with a 15-minute application as after a power walk of one and a half hours. Everything while lying down. You have to imagine this! And of course try it right away.
My preparations for the hoped-for “Miracle of Great Flottbek” (I live in this part of Hamburg) are surprisingly easy-going: connect the device to the socket in the morning and in the evening, place it in the middle in front of it so that the cuffs slide comfortably into the anatomically shaped recesses, set the timer – and get away from it all let the gentle back and forth of the vibrations be massaged into the healthy rhythm of the body’s own flow of energy. According to the manufacturer, the machine perfectly mimics the vibrations of our life energy Chi. According to traditional Chinese medicine, it flows on meridians. Like a goldfish in its laterally lurching forward motion. In the rhythm of infinity, its symbol of the lying eight. I don’t really feel it that well, admittedly. But intense that my feet sway back and forth like on a ship.
Further information
The soft waves of the vibration frequency continue to the scalp. The back, the muscles – everything gets so warm, so light. However, after my first chi therapy, I can’t find out more. After switching off the device, all that remains for a while is a pleasant tingling sensation all over your body. I sway a little, like a sailor on shore leave. And I’m terribly tired. But since, as is well known, miracles often take a little longer, I lie down on the “Swinging Machine” twice a day for a month. She seizes her chance and consolidates her first therapeutic successes in the coming weeks. I feel more and more relaxed, in my head and in my back. No pain anymore. I can also sleep better and am more resistant to stress. Is this due to my dissolved energy blockages? Or at the turbo oxygen shower?
Conclusion: The “Chi machine” works – but not miracles. It relaxes very finely, even tense muscles, somehow makes you more relaxed. However, any conventional massage can also do this – only much cheaper. There is no trace of effects such as weight loss , tightening or detoxification for me.
