Öko-Test recommends these 7 body scrubs

Body scrubs get a bad rap as they often contain microplastics and are too harsh on the skin. But is that really true? Öko-Test tested 50 products. These are recommended:

Body scrubs remove dead skin cells, refine the complexion, stimulate blood circulation and soften the skin. The small abrasive particles were microplastics for a long time, so the rumor about the bad environmental balance persisted and the scrubs were presented in a bad light. This has now changed for many manufacturers and substances such as nylon, polyethylene or polypropylene are no longer used.

The sea salt peeling Alpine herbs from Bergland-Pharma (approx. 20 euros) is certified natural cosmetics and does not contain any plastic compounds, PEG or controversial ingredients. The exfoliating ingredient is sea salt. Almond and sunflower oil intensively pamper the skin. It smells of fresh alpine herbs.

Body Boom Coffee-Peeling Mango

The Body Boom peeling (approx. 9 euros) peels with coffee, cocoa and sodium chloride, smells wonderfully fresh of mango and contains no critical ingredients. You will look in vain for plastic and questionable ingredients.

The Kneipp cream-oil peeling (approx. 12 euros) contains nourishing oil cream and a gentle sugar peeling for a soft skin feeling. The peeling comes without additives, plastic and controversial substances.

Shower peeling birch from Weleda

The Weleda birch body scrub (approx. 7 euros) is certified natural cosmetics and gently exfoliates the skin. Natural pearls of caranauba and beeswax ensure the peeling effect, while sugar surfactants gently cleanse the skin. Apricot kernel oil has a moisturizing effect and moisturizes. The peeling is free of raw materials based on mineral oil, preservatives, fragrances and dyes.
