I’m not that shaky. I prefer to have solid ground under my feet. That’s why the “MonoStep Balance Board” and I don’t really go together. Nevertheless, I start unpacking right away: a wooden board, barely longer than my foot, with a stopper coating à la emery paper, one large and two smaller hemispheres made of wood. Depending on which holes I put them in on the underside of the board, I determine the degree and direction of the wobbliness, and thus the training effect. Legs, bottom or back – it’s all a matter of attitude.
Thanks to the DVD that came with it, I got the hang of it quickly and “dip-dip” for three days to do my first coordination exercises for posture and balance. Barefoot in order, according to the manufacturer, to “directly address the numerous nerve receptors on the sole of the foot”. One foot on the board, the other safely on the ground.

After the first time – cruel! My legs are shaking, my muscles hurt in regions where I would never have guessed. But I’m slowly getting into my groove and for the next three and a half weeks I’m doing my “wobble dog fitness” for 20 minutes every day. The sore muscles move in stages from the feet up to the back . And then? More stable joints, tighter muscles, more tension in the posture. Class!
My conclusion on the balance board
Success after a short time: Pretty much sore muscles, twitching tendons and tighter muscles.
Fitness effect: muscles, strength and coordination are trained to the max. Hardly any effect on concentration.
Easy to use : works like this. Fiddly screwing before I can get started.
Repetition recommended: Absolutely, otherwise the training effect will quickly evaporate.
Good for the soul: Of course the soul smiles when the body is nice and toned.
