Aroma baths

Always follow your nose: Essential oils not only warm the body, but also the heart and soul – and directly influence the brain.

Leave everyday life in front of the bathroom door, relax without much preparation – a bath with essential oils is just the right thing after a hard day. You can achieve the greatest possible effect with two rules: the bath water should have a temperature of 35 to 38 degrees, then the essential oils can develop their full effect. And the bath time should be between ten and twenty minutes. After ten minutes the body slides into a state of deep relaxation, after twenty minutes the circulation switches to a regeneration rhythm.

Essential oils put you in a good mood
Lavender calms you down, tangerine relaxes you, lemon balm encourages you, vanilla balances you out: use the essences individually or in combination, depending on your mood. So that the oils don’t just float on the water surface, first stir ten drops into five tablespoons of milk and pour the mixture into the bath water. Or reach for a ready-made product: eg “Pure Melissa Relaxation”, “Happy Time Out Red Poppy and Hemp” from Kneipp or “tetesept Anti- Stress Bath” and “tetesept Relaxation Bath”.

Effortless deceleration
With aroma baths, unlike with meditation, you don’t need any practice to slide into a state of relaxation. The scientific explanation: Normally, before they reach their target area in the brain, sensory impressions are first processed in the thalamus, a part of the diencephalon. Not so smells: They go directly to the limbic system, the center of our emotions.
